A long-time favorite of grillers and BBQers everywhere, Kingsford Charcoal has some exciting new offerings for the 2011 barbeque season. The Kingsford Points Chase fired up the barbeque world in 2010 and it’s back for another season ... this time it’s bigger and better! The Kingsford Points Chase rewards teams that cook their winning entries using Kingsford Charcoal.
This year, the Kingsford Points Chase includes 25 events across the country, each with a $500 prize for the top team that cooks with Kingsford. The points chase will crown one grand champion who will take home a check for $25,000 and major bragging rights.
This year, to open up the playing field all season long, the grand champion will be crowned based on their top eight scores ... keeping us biting our nails in anticipation all the way through the very last contest.
The Kingsford Points Chase kicked off in Hammond, La. at the Hammond Blues & BBQ Challenge on March 25 and 26 and will culminate at the 22nd Annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue.
Any team that uses at least 20 pounds of charcoal during a Kingsford Points Chase event is eligible to participate. The points standings will be updated on the KCBS website after each contest.
