Gary Wells

April 3, 2007
Gary Wells, founder and past president of KCBS passed away April 2, 2007. He along with his wife, Carolyn, and friend Rick Welch founded the Kansas City Barbeque Society in 1986.

Gary and Carolyn's team cooked in KCBS competition. Gary was a great competitor living in the true spirit of competition and what it should be. Gary along with his wife Carolyn were very accomplished and successful competitors.

But what was most important to Gary, were the friendships he made with the BBQ family. He was a friend to everyone he met, and always offered a friendly hand and smile to those whom he had the opportunity to come into contact with.

Gary had retired as a Farmers independent insurance agent. He leaves his wife, Carolyn Wells (KCBS Executive Director), his daughter, Courtney and two sons, Kendall and Tim.

Gary will be sorely missed, but the memories we'll forever cherish.
The Perfect Performance!
