Board of Directors – Special Meeting
March 23, 2011
The meeting was called to order by President Weaver at 7:07 p.m. central time. The following members were present via conference call: Candy Weaver, Don Harwell, Mike Budai, Tana Shupe, Wayne Lohman, Gene Goycochea, Paul Kirk, Arlie Bragg, Randy Bigler, Mark Simmons, Mike Lake. Absent: Merl Whitebook.
Members present on the call were Dale Newstrom and Vickie Peyton.
A motion was made by Mike Lake to purchase a truck and trailer currently owned by the National Pork Board. Seconded by Wayne Lohman, ayes were unanimous. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Mark Simmons to authorize the appropriate party/ies to negotiate in good faith to purchase the truck and trailer at the best price possible. Seconded by Paul Kirk, ayes were unanimous. Motion passed.
By consensus of the Board, Candy Weaver will facilitate the negotiations for KCBS.
Don Harwell moved that teams competing in the regional contests in the Sam’s Club BBQ Series may not compete in another contest on the same weekend under the same name. Seconded by Wayne Lohman, ayes were unanimous. Motion passed.
After discussion of various considerations of the procedures regarding the contest in Lakeland, Florida, the board considered that this matter is now closed.
