RANDY BIGLER MOVE TO GO TO CLOSED SESSION.  2ND HAYS.  PASSED.

OPEN SESSION:

Mike Hays:   I move that KCBS establish a business relationship with Advanced Online, of Coppell, Tx., with the purpose of: A) creating a new online merchandise store for KCBS merchandise, B) placing that store on the KCBS website, and C) managing all aspects of order fulfillment.  2ND RICHTER.  PASSED.

BILL CAPSTACK:  Motion to discuss the definition of the Team of the Year program and how it benefits KCBS.  2ND LOHMAN.  PASSED.

KIM COLLIER DEFINED TEAM OF THE YEAR AND GAVE BRIEF HISTORY OF HOW IT DEVELOPED.  IT’S MEANT TO BE A MARATHON EFFORT FOR THE WINNING TEAM.  BIGLER:  WHY 50 TO 35 DROP IN TEAM COUNT BONUS POINTS?  RICHTER:  PROBABLY HURT LARGER CONTESTS.  PETERS:  BROUGHT 50 TO 35 UP TO MATCH MORE CLOSELY THE AVERAGE SIZE OF CONTESTS, TO KEEP COOKS COOKING CLOSER TO HOME RATHER THAN HAVING TO TRAVEL TO GET TO 50 TEAM CONTESTS AT THE END OF THE POINTS CHASE YEAR.

HOW MANY TEAMS ARE INVOLVED IN TOY?  LIKELY NUMBER AROUND 100 OUT OF ENTIRE COOK TEAM COUNT.

PETERS:  I WILL CREATE ANOTHER AD HOC COMMITTEE MADE UP JUST OF TOY TEAMS TO FIGURE A WAY TO INVOLVE MORE TEAMS IN TEAM OF THE YEAR.  WEAVER: SUBCATEGORIES OF TOY ARE AVAILABLE NOW ON KCBS.US AS A MEMBER LOGIN FEATURE.  TOY FOR TEAMS COOKING 5 OR LESS, 10 OR LESS, 15 OR LESS, 20 OR LESS, 25 OR LESS OR UNLIMITED (OFFICIAL TOY RESULTS) ARE ON THE WEB SITE NOW.  WHY NOT RECOGNIZE THOSE TEAMS IN THE BULLSHEET.

NEED FOR BETTER INFORMATION ON TOY ON WEB SITE, WEAVER WILL WRITE ASK KCBS COLUMN FOR THE BULLSHEET ON WHAT TOY IS AND WHAT THE RULES ARE.

AS PASSED 11/11/15.

Move that ties in the categories be broken in the following manner:  all of the tied teams for category placement are counted for that place.  Funds for that place and the following place(s) are combined and split equally by the tied teams.  All teams receive trophies and prize money for that placement.  Overall ties will be broken in the following manner:  If two or more teams are tied at the end of the year, their yearend chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket Team of the Year are added together.  An example would be something like chicken 2725, ribs 2630, pork 2590, and brisket 2710 for a total 10655.  The total is compared against the total of the other team(s) tied for the overall and the highest total wins the tie.  This rewards the team with the overall best results.  If this does not break the tie, look to the teams’ 11th contest (and so forth) until the tie is broken.

MOTION:  Motion to rescind the motion of November 11, 2015 that ties in the categories not be broken and both teams receive trophies and prize money for that placement.  Overall ties will be broken in the following manner:  If two or more teams are tied at the end of the year, their yearend chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket TEAM OF THE YEAR POINTS are added together. 2ND POLSON.  MOTION FAILED.
