My BBQ partner is my daughter Brianna Goodman. She is only a Padawan right now but she's going to be a BBQ Jedi soon! Brianna and I are from Madison Ga. Madison is known for being the town that Sherman refused burn on his march to the sea. We started barbecuing together when Brianna was 13. We were trying to find something that we could do to spend time together. And we already liked to grill out. So we decided to try smoking some food. We bought our first smoker and it started from there. One day Brianna came to me and shared that our city (Madison Ga) was going to have a BBQ Cook-off. We entered the cook-off and took 4th place in three different categories. What made it special was Brianna came up with the rub that we used. We were playing around in the kitchen with different spices and she started naming off the spices that she wanted in her rub. I decided how much of each spice was added and she come up with a great rub. The next cook off we competed in we took 1st in chicken and 2nd in ribs using Brianna's rub. Our best food would have to be Ribs and Chicken. Now we mix up her rub with some other stuff and cook it all on our three pits. We have a Stumps Stretch, Treager xl, and a Weber WSM 22''. The rest is history.
