We are McFrankenboo BBQ out of Glendale, AZ. We are a husband and wife team (occasionally accompanied by a cast of irregulars) who have been competing on "the circuit" for a little over two years now.
We got our team name from a combination of Erin's maiden name, Hagenbuch (pronounced Hay-gen-Boo) and Jim's last name Frank. The Mc was put on the front as Erin and Jim are both Irish, plus it's wicked fun!
Jim has always had a passion for cooking and Erin loves to eat. We started out in the backyard like everyone else and have moved into competitions so that others could enjoy the fruits of our labors.
Jim is the head cook, pit master and master welder, well maybe not master welder, but with enough knowledge to turn a smoker that barely works into an awesome smoking machine.
Erin has recently been educated in the fine arts of cutlery and their uses, including how to keep all fingers attached when using them, so she has graduated from master organizer, decorator and "booth candy" to Pork Butt prepper and turn in box prepper.
Seamus, the Irish Attack Dog, is a Boston Terrier and has become the best BBQ dog ever. He just sits and waits for his celebratory pork shoulder bone, which he then hides in his cage.
