MIDWEST SCUBA-QUE
Year Started: 2005Members:
RYAN FELTY
This all started when I was the Security Director at Gateway Computers in Kansas City, MO. Our Kitchen Chef was Jon Williams, he had started Second Line Smokin' Krewe and he asked me if I wanted to join him for a contest. I was hooked... I competed for a year with his team, then I used his smoker to do 2 contests in 2005 (DeSoto and Kurzweils) did pretty good. I helped (a little) Phil Hopkins make me a SG69 Custom Pellet smoker, borrowed a buddies trailer for 2 contests in the spring of 2005, then started looking for my own. Bought a 2005 Haulin' LS 16 enclosed trailer, put A/C on it, electricity, fridge, tables, fans, and away I went. This year I added Stainless steel cabinets and a RV awning. I will make some more changes this winter to tweak things just a bit more. 2012- I now cook on barrels as well as the pellet feeder. I did my first American Royal in 2011, took Reserve Grand Champion in the Side Dish categories, Rhonda got a 180 on dessert. This is my 2nd 180 in dessert.
