CHARLEY'S BENEFIT RIDE AND POKER RUN
The 9th Annual Charley's Ride was held Saturday, September 25th and could not have been a more perfect day! With the help of the Jefferson County Sherriff's Dept., 127 motorcycles made an impressive departure in route through the streets of Louisville and South
ern Indiana. The participating riders were not only grateful, but very impressed by the wonderful hospitality extended to them by Elks Lodge #8, Lodge #270 and Lodge #2052. The ride finished at the Elks Lyndon Lodge #2052 where food, raffles, music and an auction took place. Britt Weatherby worked his magic once again and produced over 200 pounds of some of the finest pulled pork, brisket, and ribs, as well as all the fixings, to create another unforgettable feast! Thanks go to Britt, Lynn & Tim Catlett, Frank Hawkins, Dave Bivin, Sherry Domine, Dave Emspiker, Karen Jeffries, Susan Hughes, Brenda & Tom Solley, the inside and outside bartenders, everyone who set up and dismantled and all those who helped clean up. This year $24,096.00 was raised giving each of the three recipients over $8,000.00. On Wednesday, October 6th, ER Steve Moore and T J Swan presented checks to recipients Jeff D., Mariah G., and Diane S. There is no better feeling than knowing you have contributed to the improvement of a life in need.
