Johnny Trigg Shootout
COMING TO TEXAS BARBEQUE COMPETITIONS IN 2022!
Johnny Trigg has been competing in KCBS-sanctioned contests as team "Smokin' Triggers" around the U.S. since the early 90's; racking up countless trophies and notable wins. He was the first pitmaster to ever win the Jack Daniel's Invitational contest twice and was inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame in 2012.
In honor of the legendary pitmaster, also known as the "Godfather of Barbeque" and his impact on the barbeque world, the Shootout will come to 5-10 KCBS-sanctioned Master Series cook-offs across Johnny‘s home state of Texas. Pitmasters will compete in the cook-offs for a chance at additional prize money, trophies, and the honor of being named the Johnny Trigg Shootout Champion.

Johnny Trigg Shootout Team of the Year
KCBS member pitmasters will receive points for their performance at each of the cook-offs within the Shootout. KCBS will track pitmasters' points across contests within the Johnny Trigg Shootout using the Team of the Year points system. Participating pitmasters must be active members of KCBS to receive points in the Shootout series.
