Organizers - Host a Turkey Smoke Ancillary in 2021
The Turkey Smoke series of sponsored ancillary contests has become a favorite among cooks and judges. These contests, presented in partnership with the National Turkey Federation, showcase the versatility of turkey on the smoker. They provide another opportunity for Cook Teams to compete and Organizers to enhance their KCBS sanctioned competitions without additional cost.
For 2021, KCBS and the National Turkey Federation have decided to enhance the selection process. Now, Organizers of KCBS sanctioned events may apply for their competition to host one of the Turkey Smoke ancillary contests. Organizers are encouraged to click on the link https://mms.kcbs.us/members/form.php?orgcode=KCBA&fid=2883599 and review all the benefits and responsibilities of hosting a Turkey Smoke ancillary during the 2021 BBQ season.
Also new for 2021, KCBS and the National Turkey Federation will introduce a Turkey Team of the Year points chase. Teams who compete in one of the Turkey Smoke ancillary contests will be eligible to receive TOY points for their turkey entries, creating another incentive for cooks to register to compete in the Turkey Smoke ancillaries.
