COOK TEAM REGISTRATION AND JUDGE APPLICATIONS ARE NOW “LIVE” FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL KCBS WORLD INVITATIONAL BARBEQUE CONTEST NOVEMBER 11-14, 2021

We are pleased to announce that registration for teams and applications for judging for the KCBS World Invitational, presented by Smithfield, are now live on the KCBS website. The KCBS World Invitational will take place at the FireLake Arena in Shawnee, OK November 11- 14, 2021. With over $65,000 total in prize money at stake, this event is not to be missed!

The Kansas City Barbeque Society World Invitational, presented by Smithfield, will bring together championship pitmasters to compete for the title of KCBS World Champion in the Master and Backyard divisions. Master Series Invitational Cooks will be competing for $30,000. NEW for 2021 is the addition of the KCBS OPEN with a prize purse of $25,000, which is open to any KCBS member in good standing to compete in the 4 main KCBS meats. Backyard teams are able to compete in KCBS OPEN! The KCBS Backyard Invitational will include a prize purse of $6,500!
 
The KCBS World Invitational will include the finale of the Turkey Smoke Series turkey contest and Turkey Smoke Team of the Year program that KCBS is leading with the National Turkey Federation to showcase the versatility of turkey on the smoker! In addition, we will include the Celebrate Real Pork series with the National Pork Board and a cocktail contest with 360 Vodka.

Judges are applying to be a part of the judging process; which may mean being assigned to Judge, Table Captain, or work in another volunteer role within the judging area. Judges must apply for each of the days that they are interested in being a part of the judging process. Judges will be notified of confirmation once teams are registered and we have a more accurate team count.
 
As a reminder, all teams and judges need to be members in good standing of the Kansas City Barbeque Society to compete, so double check your membership status now at www.kcbs.us or call the office at 1-800-963-5227.
 
BANQUET TICKETS ARE LIVE

The KCBS banquet will be held in conjunction with the KCBS World Invitational and will highlight top teams in the KCBS Team of the Year points chase for both the Master and Backyard Series, as well as the Chase Stage winners. During the banquet, we will also honor winners of the following prestigious awards: 
  • Gary Wells award for Sportsmanship
  • Carolyn Wells award for Ambassadorship
  • Outstanding Judge Awards
  • Recognition of Rep Service
Tickets to the KCBS banquet will include a wristband for 2 entree and sides choices from the National Turkey Federation station, Smithfield Marinated Fresh Pork station or Snake River Farms meatball and pasta station. Tickets will also include bread, salad, dessert and tea/water. Alcoholic beverages are available at a CASH BAR. No outside food, beverage or alcohol will be permitted.

Tables will not be assigned. You may sit where you like. No animals are allowed inside the arena.
