Anything Molasses Ancillary Category Rules - 2025 KCBS World Invitational $7,500 in prize money paying 10 places

 
Grandma's Molasses is the proud sponsor for the "Anything Molasses" category. Creativity is encouraged, but all entries must include Grandma's Molasses as an ingredient and follow the rules outlined below.

Entry Requirements

• Each team may submit one entry only.
• Entry must include Grandma's Molasses as an ingredient.
• Entry is to be presented in a container or vessel provided by the team that one person can easily carry.
• The entry must include at least six portions, either:
  • Individually portioned, or
  • Family-style.
• Alcohol may be an ingredient in the entry, but entries may not consist of mixed drinks, cocktails, or alcoholic beverages.
• Entries may incorporate visible Grandma's Molasses branding in presentation if desired.
• Teams will be given a numbered 3” x 5” index card to submit their recipe.  This card must accompany your entry at turn-in.

 
Turn-In Details

• Turn-in time for this entry is 7:00 PM. Entries will be accepted between 6:55 PM and 7:04:59 PM.
• Turn-in location is on the north side of the East-West Building.
• The team's assigned box number must be clearly visible and affixed to the entry, but may not be placed on the bottom of the vessel.
• No identifying marks or decorations that would identify the team may be used.

 
 Judging Format
Judging will be double-blind using the standard KCBS scoring system:

• Appearance
• Taste
• Texture (replacing Tenderness for this category)

*The judge must be able to taste the molasses in the dish
Recipe Submission
Teams must submit their recipe for verification and promotional purposes.
 
Prize Money
The total prize purse is $7,500, paying ten places as follows:

1. 1st Place – $3,000
2. 2nd Place – $1,500
3. 3rd Place – $750
4. 4th Place – $600
5. 5th Place – $400
6. 6th Place – $250
7. 7th Place – $250
8. 8th Place – $250
9. 9th Place – $250
10. 10th Place – $250
