Nominations for the 2027 Kansas City Barbeque Society Board of Directors will open October 1, 2026.
Three seats on the KCBS Board will be filled in the upcoming election. KCBS members who are interested in serving the organization in a meaningful and demanding volunteer leadership role are encouraged to consider becoming a candidate.
Candidates must be KCBS members in good standing and must have maintained membership in good standing for at least 12 months. Members may nominate themselves or another eligible KCBS member.
KCBS is particularly interested in candidates who can bring additional experience as contest organizers, Contest Representatives and Certified Barbeque Judges, as well as professional experience in areas including marketing and sales, nonprofit organizations, fundraising and foundations, accounting and finance, membership growth and retention, and legal or regulatory matters.
Nominations will remain open through November 1, 2026.
Qualified nominees will be asked to accept their nomination and submit a current photograph and completed candidate questionnaire by November 15. A virtual KCBS Board Candidate Town Hall is scheduled for December 16, 2026.
Voting will take place January 1 through January 15, 2027, with three candidates elected to the KCBS Board of Directors.
Members interested in helping shape the future of KCBS are encouraged to give serious consideration to serving.
